Blood Donation
 Every day, a baby is born who will need open heart surgery before one year of age.
When an infant has open heart surgery, 3 pints of blood are
needed just to prime the heart-lung bypass machine. This does
not include any possible transfusions that may be needed after
surgery. Without this blood, these life saving surgeries would
not be possible.
